When Allah prays!!

Satya Sondhani

Muslims believe that-

1) Allah is the supreme power.

2) Muhammed was Allahs messenger and friend

3) However, Muhammed was also Allahs creature

If one asks, Who is more powerful?? Muhammed or Allah?? then most probably his remarks will be termed as outrageous and ignorant. Because Allah cant be compared with Muhammed since after all Muhammed   himself also worshipped Allah. This makes sense! BUT what if one says, Allah  prays for Muhammed??

I suppose you are not ready to believe it. You may say, Allah praises Muhammed BUT doesnt pray.

 Well, have a careful look:

Allah sends His Salat (Graces, Honors, Blessings, Mercy, etc.) on the Prophet  (Muhammed SM) and also His angels too(ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe! Send your Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammed SM), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greetings (salutation). 33: 56

Now there are two possible explanations-

1) Muhammed did everything he could in order to make sure hes obeyed/respected always. Therefore even though he had to use Allahs name (otherwise just as a human being it was difficult for him to gain authority over fellow-humans, so he related himself to supernatural power in the name of Allah), he ensured that Allah by no way suppresses his image because Muhammed was also aware of shadow of the supernatural concept Allah that he coined himself. The above verse typifies Muhammeds cleverly character. Its reflected many times if one reads Quran carefully.

2) Allah Subhanu Taala loved prophet as prophet made most sacrifices for sake of Allah than any body else. So its not unusual for Allah to say Salat to prophet.

Question is: Allah can admire prophet hundred times but is it to that extent Allah along with angels sends prayers on prophet???

Who is dependent on whom??? Prophet on Allah or vice versa???

An analogy: If Im to say, "I like US president G. W. Bush, most people will not doubt because most ordinary people like me naturally respect Mr. Bush reason being hes the president of the strongest country in the world.

Now if I exaggerate it a bit and say, Mr. Bush likes me very much, people who do not know me personally may believe this as well. BUT what if I say, Mr. Bush along with all his white house stuff salutes me! He also asks all ordinary people to salute me. Wont you take this with a grain of salt???
