There is no doubt that God has created all of us and He has provided all the necessary things for our survival in this world. No matter how tough our life could be but He is always there to take care of us and to give us all the good things. We should always thank to Almighty for His great kindness.

We, the human beings in the world always should try to make people happy, comfortable, and to do that makes sense. Because, by doing so, we can show our gratitude towards the Almighty. If you want to make someone really happy and intimate to you, thank him/her as much as you can for his/her every single contribution to anything.

In our daily life in this mechanism world, we often forget to say thanks to other which can make him/her happy. We should express gratitude to the Almighty for his blessings and give thanks to dear ones for their contribution, help, love, and support.

This year Thursday, November 23, 2006 , Americans are celebrating 385th Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving Day is a joyous family festival celebrated with lot of enthusiasm in U.S.A, Canada , and several other countries.

The simple meaning of 'Thanksgiving' is the _expression of gratitude and the giving of thanks. The Thanks Giving Day is simply directed towards the Almighty. It is also a time for tradition and sharing. Even if they live far away, family members gather for a reunion at the house of an older relative. All give thanks together for the good things that they have.

I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America , by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States do hereby proclaim Thursday, November 23, 2006 , as a National Day of Thanksgiving. I encourage all Americans to gather together in their homes and places of worship with family, friends, and loved ones to reinforce the ties that bind us and give thanks for the freedoms and many blessings we enjoy, has been proclaimed by the president of the United States of America on the eve of Thanks giving day in U.S.A.

From the history in 1620, a boat filled with more than one hundred Pilgrims sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and settled in the state of Massachusetts , U.S.A. Their first winter in the there was difficult. They had arrived too late to grow many crops, and without fresh food, half the colony died from disease. The following spring the Iroquois Indians taught them how to grow corn (maize), a new food for the colonists. They showed them other crops to grow in the unfamiliar soil and how to hunt and fish.

In the autumn of 1621, bountiful crops of corn, barley, beans, and pumpkins were harvested. The colonists had much to be thankful for, so a feast was planned. They invited the local Indian chief and ninety Indians. The Indians brought deer to roast with the turkeys and other wild game offered by the colonists. The colonists had learned how to cook cranberries and different kinds of corn and squash dishes from the Indians. To this first Thanksgiving, the Indians had even brought popcorn.

After the United States became an independent country, Congress recommended one yearly day of thanksgiving for the whole nation to celebrate. George Washington suggested the date November 26 as Thanksgiving Day. Then in 1863, at the end of a long and bloody civil war, Abraham Lincoln asked all Americans to set aside the last Thursday in November as a day of thanksgiving.

In his thanks, President Bush has thanked to every Americans and said that Americans are privileged to live in the world's freest country, where the hope of the American dream is within the reach of every person. Americans are ready to answer any universal call to serve throughout the world.

Mr. President has showed gratitude for the blessings of freedom, family, and faith, and hoped God may continue to bless America .

What makes Thanksgiving more memorable and delicious? Turkey , corn (or maize), pumpkins, and cranberry sauce are symbols which represent the first Thanksgiving.  The use of corn meant the survival of the colonies. "Indian corn" as a table or door decoration represents the harvest and the fall season.
