Prof. Ram Puniyani
We are proud to announce that Prof Ram Puniyani, a member and frequent contributor of Mukto-Mona is one of two people chosen by the Government of India for the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration for his work in promoting harmony between India's majority Hindu community and minorities. A former Professor at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai, Prof Puniyani has been working full time since 1993 to promote the concept of a plural India with justice and rights for all communities.
With best wishes to Prof Puniyani in his efforts to combat the growing problem of communalism in India we believe that the award has been honored more than the recipient.
