A Russian proverb says: Fools are neither sown nor harvested, by themselves they grow.

Believing that an accidental pattern of foam on a wave displays the word Allah is one of those foolish things millions of benighted people are so prone to believe despite its being an obvious nonsense. Likewise, scores of fools believe that some accidental patterns of light on certain matt windows are the images of the Virgin, etc. Very funny that the Virgin's image only appears to Christians, while the name of the Allah only to Moslems. As far as I know, such foolishness is not occurring among believing Jews, perhaps because in Judaism it is a grave sin to worship images (although they have their share of other nonsense). For the same reason Moslems only see letters spelling Allah while Christians only see images of the Virgin. There is no limits to people's idiocies.

Dear Avijit,

This was quite amusing. Though I do not believe in the outdated principle of attacking religions in order to uphold secularism. The true secularism comes from "appreciating" religions as various cultural systems that human beings devised.
The objectionable point, for me, is not what you have to say, but you calling this pseudonymous self-seeking Mohiuddin a "devout Muslim." He is a devout mischief-maker, a devout BNP supporter, a devout Barbarian who cannot possibly belong to any religion, because he does not value human life or civilization's need for law and lawful ways of punishing crimes and protecting the community.

Moreover, he did admit that he merely posted the news without subscribing any faith value to it. You have given him unncessary importance by mentioning his name. He will now gloat over that and would be unstoppable in posting his idiotic and evil comments in various forums. He is neither a Muslim of any kind, nor is he an outright Islamist. He is petty criminal himself who should be dealt the blows he is loudly recommending RAB deal to criminals. I simply cannot stand this hypocritical moron!

Thanks for the comparative photos used by believers of several world faiths. This presentation will help put a stop to those that cry Islam was being singled out.

Hopefully readers can rise above their cranial confines to witness the reality that the propensity to endorse nonsense is indeed democratic across races, religions, and culture.

But just as no ad populum fallacy makes its proposition "true", no half-wit claim of the supernatural becomes "true" by default based upon the headcount of its endorsers.

Take care!

To believers, God (Allah, Jesus, Bhagwan, ...) is omnipotent; he is present all the time, everywhere, and in every thing. There is no need to "look" for these miracles. Only people with shaky faith "buy" these stories.

Yes the great evil allah who kills thousands. If I were a Muslim I would not make such an asinine claim.

Re: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mukto-mona/message/22322

This is a brilliant rebuttal to the claim of appearing Allah's name everywhere like finding science in every word of the Koran. No kidding, the way the new brand of Islamic scientists have been growing and discovering science in Koran everyday, in a few decades there won't be any word left for research to find science. The next generation Islamic scientist would probably have to research on the spaces between the words of Koran.. Now we hear that Hindu scientists, taking cue definitely from the Islamic scientists, have started discovering science in the Geeta, Veda etc. Sure, the works of the mainstream scientists, who slog hard day in and day out in the labs to make this world a better place, would be heavily relieved. Maybe in 50 years, world should be able to do away with the traditional science labs.

The more agonizing fact is that people, having the highest education, also discover "glory" in such barbaric and cruel acts of Allah. Remind you that Tsunami killed the helpless and most innocent kids more - including the suckling and the unborn ones.

Congratulation to Avi for writing this comprehensive and convincing piece of rebuttal on this issue.

Thanks, Alamgir.
